Advertise on Homeschooling ParentTell a Friend to Visit Free Tell-a-Friend by Bravenet.com Have you considered natural pet care for your pets? Do you question their vet about vaccines and medications and recommendations for food? For all of you parents who try to do the best for your children, do you give your pets the same consideration? I try to. My dogs, Rosco & Cephas, are my babies too! I make them homemade dog food and treats. I want them to be healthy and to live long, happy lives. Now there are times that my homemade treats and food are not convenient. That is usually when we are traveling or I ran out because they are eating more than usual. For these times I like to give them good, natural foods rather than the usual junk dog foods you would find at the local grocery stores.
In my opinion feeding your dogs these highly processed foods is like feeding your kids nothing but junk foods. Processed dog foods are not good for our animals nor are many of the vaccines recommended for dogs. Just like humans, our canine counterparts immunity lies within the digestive tract. If they are not eating good wholesome foods they will be sick or end up with parasites. Then what do you do? Do you rely on medicines (which cause many other side effects) to make your pet well? I’m not talking about herbs or homeopathy here, which work with the body, I’m talking about the over prescribed medicines that vets hand out like candy. Most of the meds handed out by regular vets are very similar to human medicines, they have many side effects, that can cause your animals more problems then they had to begin with.
You do not need to agree with me…I’m just offering up another chance to educate your self here. Giving you another choice. Do you know about the choices you have when it comes to vaccinating your animals, or the other medications that would help your pet when they are sick? If you said No, I’m not surprised! Not many people know about the alternatives out there until someone brings it to their attention.
I’m offering some links at the bottom of this page to get you started. Use them to educate yourself as to what your options are. In Louisiana the rabies vaccine is required every year, some states only require it every 3 years. You will need to ask your vet what the laws are in your state about immunizations. Unfortunately I have not been able to locate the laws listed on-line so that I could provide you with a link. I hope you find this journey interesting and that it gets you thinking about the health of your pet and what you can do to improve it.
